Overview:
The Senior UC Engineering Consultant will provide architectural and infrastructure support to BlackRock's Unified Communications (UC) systems. This is a highly technical role requiring advanced experience in UC technologies. The candidate will be part of the BlackRock Global UC Engineering team, responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, and managing collaboration and communication platforms to ensure seamless communication across teams.

Position: 12+ Months Contract

• Collaborate with vendors, clients, carriers, and internal teams to implement, optimize, and secure Cisco UC systems (CUCM, CUC, IMP, Jabber, Webex, video infrastructure, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and maintain UC infrastructure and endpoints.
• Analyze and implement new technologies from inception to completion.
• Provide support to the Video Infrastructure team.
• Conduct security reviews of UC infrastructure and applications.
• Research and recommend new hardware, software, and tools to enhance collaboration capabilities.
• Document procedures, processes, and develop technical guides for support teams.
• Create help files and user documentation.
• Propose improvements for existing technology and processes.
• Escalate issues to vendors and provide metrics/reports for conferencing services.
• Work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to company design, programming, and application standards.

• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Collaboration (preferred) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Collaboration.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and resolve issues to completion.
• Advanced knowledge in:
  • Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Meeting Server, Cisco Expressway/VCS, Cisco TMS, and Cisco Meeting Manager.
  • Cisco WebEx, Cisco Jabber, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Cisco Endpoints and IPTV Streaming/Multicasting.
  • Troubleshooting tools (e.g., WireShark).
  • Monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Grafana).
  • Video Conferencing (Zoom, WebEx, H.323, SIP, NAT, Firewall Traversal).
  • VMware architecture and Microsoft Server (2019, 2022).
  • Networking technologies (Switches, Routers, Firewalls, QoS).
  • Citrix VDI, Microsoft Windows (10), MAC OSX, and MobileIron environments.
  • Knowledge of E911 solutions and experience with Cisco TAC support.

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Programming/scripting experience (Visual Basic, Python).
• Knowledge of Rest API (POSTMAN experience preferred).
• Documentation skills (Visio).
• Experience with application packaging and deployment.

Market-competitive, based on experience.

• Remote position based in Canada.
• Long-term contract with the potential for extension.
