The Public Inquiry Unit (PIU) is the primary public point-of-contact for persons who seek assistance and information from the Attorney General's Office. The PIU annually receives and responds to approximately 200,000 written and telephone inquiries from the public, elected officials, law enforcement agencies and other governmental entities on a wide variety of subjects and issues.
Please note that this classification contains multiple salary ranges. New-to-State employees will be given the minimum salary of Range A, unless you meet Alternate Range Criteria 69 . For current state employees and/or those with reinstatement rights, your salary will be determined in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Working Conditions
This position has been designated as eligible for telework and is currently a remote-centered position. The position may however require in-person attendance when requested. The selected candidate would report to Department of Justice headquarters in Sacramento if/when required to attend mandated in-person meetings, trainings, etc. Expenses related to travel to the office for required events are the responsibility of the employee. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time.
