HOW A COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Participates in the development, revision, and delivery of internal and external communications materials.

  • Supports the Communications Lead in the development, revision, and delivery of internal and external communications materials.
  • Supports the Communications Lead in the development and execution of business area and program communication plans.
  • Aids in the preparation of program briefings for GSS and program leadership's presentation to the government customer. To include, but not limited to drafting talking points, scripts, and other communications products in coordination with GSS and program leaders, as well as reviewing and editing customer deliverables.
  • Collaborate across all programs and service lanes to gain understanding of all facets of the program and its technologies.
  • Utilizes effective writing and editing skills to support program and business area leadership, to include proposal development and other customer deliverables.
  • Ensures deliverables meet editorial and customer specifications as applicable and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style.
  • Provide administrative support where needed as it relates to program and business area communications activities.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

BA/BS

4+ years' experience

Required Skills:
  • Excellent critical thinking and strategic skills necessary to understand and strategically tailor communications to the business area.
  • Must demonstrate success and comfort in working with a diverse workforce, including working alongside technical professionals in various levels of expertise.
  • Outstanding time management - work within accelerated schedule timelines while delivering high quality products to the customer.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to work effectively in a team environment with colleagues from a variety of departments and leadership levels.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • TS/SCI clearance required.

Desired Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of NGA and its Mission Partners, or within the Department of Defense
  • Experience in or knowledge of the IT field

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
