About the Role:
We're seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounting/Financial Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and contributing valuable insights to guide our business decisions. This is a remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from home while being part of a collaborative and dynamic environment.
As a vital member of our finance team, you'll work closely with the Head of Finance, bringing your strong analytical skills and attention to detail to our daily operations. You will thrive in a high-performance culture where your work is crucial to the success of the team and the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily financial operations, including ledger maintenance, accruals, and timely reconciliations using tools like Excel, QuickBooks, and NetSuite.
- Review financial documents and reports to identify and correct discrepancies, ensuring accuracy at all times.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide proactive insights into financial reporting and operations, supporting informed business decisions.
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, ensuring deadlines and accuracy are consistently met.
- Assist with forecasting and budgeting, providing the financial foresight necessary for growth and success.
- Collaborate in the implementation of ERP systems, helping to establish a robust framework for our financial processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes and systems.
- Support internal and external audits, maintaining integrity and compliance with all regulations.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested, offering data-driven insights to leadership.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Process bi-monthly payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees.
What We're Looking For:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least four years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and their implementation.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks and NetSuite.
- Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
- A solid understanding of financial statements and accounting report preparation.
- Experience with audits and the implementation of financial systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in the insurance brokerage industry is preferred, but not required.
