Worship Leader/Preschool Director

We are multigenerational and wish to maintain a blended worship style, with a fair mix of
hymns and contemporary praise and worship, led in a way in which Christ is honored and God is
glorified.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Part-time Worship Leader The primary responsibilities of the part-time worship leader will be to lead a thoroughly blended worship service and grow the music
ministry at Tower Grove. This person is directly accountable to the Senior Pastor. The candidate will possess an adaptable skill set and leadership capabilities, which will enable a worship ministry to grow with us as we develop special worship events on campus and in our community.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Continue to grow and mature in Christ as a godly person of integrity. Strong sense of calling and identity in Christ. Demonstrated leadership in being able to disciple those in his/her sphere of influence.
• Provide leadership, vision, and passion for Tower Grove in the area of music worship ministries that is in line with the overall vision, purpose and mission of our church. Lead in creating and implementing new worship opportunities, which align with the mission and vision at Tower Grove Church.
• Coordinate with the Senior Pastor to create a well-planned and engaging Sunday morning worship service. This includes leading the Sunday Worship service and recruiting and developing a worship team and scheduling vocalists. 
• Responsibilities include preparation for and leading rehearsals, as well as consulting with the Senior Pastor to coordinate the music for the Sunday service.
• Proficiency in leading worship with a strong vocal ability. Capability of leading and with a guitar and/or keyboard is a plus, but not a requirement. 
• Ability to lead with piano accompaniment is necessary.
• Attend a weekly staff meeting with the Senior Pastor, and participate in the planning and implementation of church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church.
• Assist in planning, implementing and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday worship services.
• When available, perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
• Either currently is a member of, or willing and qualified to join the membership of Tower Grove Church upon hiring in full agreement of our statement of faith.
• It is anticipated that the duties associated with this position will take no less than 12 and no more than 15 hours per week.

Preschool Director Job Description:
The preschool director will oversee the daily operations and administration of the preschool. The director must have experience in childhood development and lead
management within an early childhood setting. The preschool director’s responsibilities include hiring and retention of qualified staff, property upkeep, financial management, marketing and excellent communication with parents and leaders within the institution. The preschool director must be a Godly leader and love working with children. The director must have excellent interpersonal, professional and communication skills. The director will uphold the mission and vision of the preschool with pride and ensure that the preschool meets the relevant standards set by the school.

Essential Function:

• Daily operation
• Friendly, Christ-centered, child focused environment
• Meets Missouri state licensing requirements 
• Leads by example with desire to achieve personal/classroom/school goals
• 12 month position (excluding predetermined holidays)

Preferred Education: 

• Bachelor’s in early childhood education
• Five years experience working in a preschool or early childhood environment
• Experience as a director/assistant director a plus
• First aid and CPR certification

Necessary Skills: 

• Knowledge and understanding of license requirements 
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe PDF and Facebook
• Excellent organization skills and ability to communicate effectively
• Budgeting/financial skills preferred
• Knowledge of preschool developmentally appropriate practices
• Desire to foster a strong relationship between early childhood, K-8, and church

About Tower Grove Christian Academy:

What began as a small ministry of Tower Grove Church, now boasts an enrollment of nearly 300 students from infancy through 8th grade, serving families from St. Louis, Jefferson, Franklin, and St. Charles counties, as well as the City of St. Louis and western Illinois. Tower Grove Christian Academy provides a preschool program where children play, learn, experiment, and grow at their own rate. We also provides a challenging and comprehensive elementary and middle school program. TGCA develops competence in Bible, English, fine and practical arts, mathematics, physical education, technology, health, science and social studies, and prepares students for success at the high school level. We want to serve our community through intentional teaching and discipling the children and students who walk through our doors.
