Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Snow Plow Operator to join our team during the winter season. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating snow plows and related equipment to ensure safe and clear roadways, parking lots, and pathways during snow and ice storms. This position requires a strong work ethic, ability to work in adverse weather conditions, and a commitment to keeping our community safe and accessible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate snow plows, salt spreaders, and other snow removal equipment to clear roads, driveways, parking lots, sidewalks, and other areas as directed.
• Monitor weather conditions and adjust snow removal efforts to respond to snowfall and icy conditions promptly.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning before, during, and after shifts.
• Ensure safety on the job by adhering to all safety protocols and operating equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including equipment use, hours worked, and materials used (salt, sand, etc.).
• Assist with the manual removal of snow and ice in areas where plowing is not effective or safe.
• Respond to emergency calls and requests for snow removal as needed, particularly during snowstorms or hazardous conditions.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members to coordinate snow removal efforts and ensure that all areas are attended to in a timely manner.
• Handle all job duties with a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating snow plows or similar heavy equipment is preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
• Flexibility to respond to changing weather conditions and urgent snow removal needs.
