Senior Linux Administrator

Kansas City, Missouri/ Minneapolis, MN

Contract on W2

KEY: Middle to Senior Linux Administrator with VMware and/or Nutanix Hypervisor knowledge and experience.

• Linux (SUSE, RHEL, CentOS, BSD)
• VMware
• Ansible is a plus
• Linux based security would be a plus as well

Overview

• Individuals are responsible for Linux operational support, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades and expansion, on-call rotation. In addition, they will provide support to provisioning/operational staff, as well as work closely with the architecture group in design support and validation of new designs and installations. This position will lead the containerization effort for Datacenter services.
• Provide direction and advice pertaining to capacity planning
• Provide direction and advice pertaining to future installations and design
• Provide direction to automate and orchestrate future use of Linux environments (Tanium, Orchestrator, automation suites)
• Configuration management utilizing Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, Chef, Desired State Configuration (DSC)
• Knowledge and use of containerization platforms (Docker, OpenShift)
• Scripting languages (PowerShell, bash, python)

Knowledge in the following preferred:

• Virtualization Technologies using VMware/Nutanix/Hyper V (MS suite)
• Provide direction and advice pertaining to design and configuration of converged infrastructure
• Cluster experience (SLES, RH would be good)
• Vcenter or Nutanix tools
• Storage Technologies using Dell/EMC and Netapp
• Dell/EMC and Netapp replication technologies
• Protocols including CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, FC
• Cisco Networking Products
• Networking technologies including, but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, Routing Protocols, Switching
• Cisco UCS Servers
• VMWare Hypervisor as well as some UCS bare-metal)
• Strong Communications Skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated experience documenting environments, runbooks, etc.
• Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and automation technologies
• Infrastructure as Code platforms: Terraform, Packer, Azure Resource Manager/CloudFormation templates
• Enterprise service bus platforms
• Ability to work independently to achieve goals
• Ability to work as part of a strong technical delivery team to deliver computing needs

Skills:

• 10 to 15 years Infrastructure experience
• 1 to 3 years virtual infrastructure experience

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
