Job Description:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham ( UAB ) Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science ( DBIDS ) is seeking outstanding candidates for faculty positions in the field of biomedical informatics. Rank and tenure status will be determined based on qualifications and interests.
Candidates must have an MD or other doctoral degree in a related field and relevant postdoctoral experience. Preference will be given to candidates with significant records of research accomplishment, scholarship and recognition in the fields of biomedical informatics, genomics and bioinformatics, clinical research informatics, health informatics, data science and big data analysis, data modeling, electronic health records and clinical information system, clinical decision support systems, disease genetics/genomics, artificial intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), interoperability, human-computer interaction/cognitive informatics, medical imaging/signal data analysis/translational science, and natural language processing. The successful candidate will establish and maintain an independent funded research program that achieves national recognition for its contributions to the field. Advancement will also consider contributions to the educational and/or service missions of the Department.
