PUBLIC SAFETY SUPPORT/SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

Information Technology Department

Non-Union - Grade 11

$64,383.02. - $77,904.49 Salary Range exceeds the hiring range

The candidate hired in this role will provide operational and technical support to Belmont Police and Public Safety staff primarily and all Town staff as needed in collaboration with the Belmont IT Department. They are also the onsite technical contact for CJIS and will interact with external technology vendors on behalf of Public Safety, collaborate with team members and contribute to efforts to develop, design, implement, and continuously improve systems.

Will also be the primary Administrator for the Department’s use of Exacq, QED, Extra-Duty, On-Duty, DHQ, Passport Parking and other department systems and software, and will collaborate with the IT Department on the Administration of Windows, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

This position reports to the Belmont IT Chief Innovation Officer.

  • Associate's degree in computer science or information technology with 5+ years of previous experience and/or training with computer and networking technology; or any equivalent combination.
  • Must be able to become CJIS certified
  • Intermediate to Advanced understanding of Network and System Administration principles.
  • Microsoft Office and Windows 11 knowledge is required. Google Workspace preferred.
  • Experience working in a Public Safety environment and/or with Public Safety systems is preferred.
  • CompTIA certifications (Network+, Security+, Server+, CySA) or equivalent is preferred.

This is a full time, 40 hours per week position, includes complete benefit package.
