Job Posting: Perioperative Nurse - Plastic Surgery Center

Position: Registered Nurse 

Location: NOVA Surgery Center, Ashburn, VA Employment Type: prn and vacation coverage

Responsibilities: As an Perioperative Registered Nurse at NOVA Surgery Center, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care throughout various stages of surgery. Your responsibilities will include:  

Preoperative Duties:

• Conducting preoperative phone checks to gather necessary patient information.
• Ensuring patients are prepared for surgery, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
• Assisting with the implementation of preoperative protocols and ensuring patient safety

Intraop Duties:

• Providing assistance to the surgical team by circulating during procedures
• Preparing the operating room by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available
• Assisting with surgical procedures by scrubbing in and maintaining a sterile environment
• Anticipating the needs of the surgical team and providing support as require

Postoperative Duties:

• Monitoring patients in the recovery area after surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Administering medications and treatments as directed by the surgeon

• Assisting with patient discharge instructions and providing postoperative education

Administrative Tasks:

• Conducting postoperative phone checks to assess patient recovery and address any concerns
• Collaborating with the administrative team to schedule surgical cases efficiently
• Ensuring accurate documentation of patient information and maintaining medical records

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) degree from an accredited nursing program
• Current and unrestricted RN license in VA
• Prefer experience in Preop, Circulating and or PACU
• Desire to learn surgical scrubbing is an asset
• BLS and ACLS certification required
