The primary responsibility of the Operations Relationship Banker (ORB) is to ensure documentation and transaction accuracy and proficiency of all branch associates by providing direction, coaching, problem solving, guidance, and monitoring for exception and error prevention and resolution regarding all operational and compliance-related items. The ORB will also serve as the Financial Center champion for coaching and guiding associates to deliver a consistent customer experience that exceeds goal. The ORB will provide expert financial solutions to existing and prospective clients by assessing their financial needs and offering solutions through bank products and services to help clients accomplish their current and future financial goals. The ORB will be responsible for building, expanding, and retaining existing client relationships while providing exceptional client experience and to exceed established individual and branch goals. Additional duties include assisting clients with account service and maintenance requests, teller transactions, problem resolution, and other transactional needs as a professional and positive Simmons Ambassador. All Relationship Banker positions will receive the same training on all requisite products, services, and needs based conversations, with additional training for the Operations Relationship Banker as a subject matter expert (SME) on operational policy, procedures, and regulatory items.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and works with Retail Operations Manager to ensure compliance with the organization's policies and procedures for all work product and documentation generated by the Financial Center.
  • Ensures branch associates are fully trained on operational processes and procedures to achieve quarterly Operations Scorecard and Customer Experience goals.
  • Assist branch associates in preventing and resolving loan exceptions, CIP exceptions and new account documentation exceptions as reported to Operations Manager by Consumer Lending, BSA and other support departments
  • Function as audit and security liaison overseeing and responding to all exceptions and deficiencies to ensure compliance.
  • Perform all functions related to opening and closing accounts including assisting customers with the appropriate selection of accounts, performing research of customers' accounts, and complying with BSA and CIP requirements
  • Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
  • Perform regular branch audit functions including teller cash audits, compliance documentation audits, clerical, supervisory and management reporting as requested
  • Serve as the Customer Experience Champion of the Financial Center by coaching and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction in order to exceed customer experience goals
  • Responsible to share and recommend the full scope of products and services to customers, including traditional in branch services, digital capabilities, and engaging business partners with referrals as customer needs dictate.
  • Ensure that individual goals are met through required levels of in person and outbound calling activities that provide an opportunity to share valued solutions and recommendations via a needs-based philosophy
  • Facilitate consumer loan requests: solicit loan requests; maintain knowledge of loan policies and procedures; assist with branch(es)' consumer loan portfolio(s); coach staff(s) to service consumer loan requests in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Process customer requests and transactions in a positive, accurate and professional manner while identifying needs and recommend solutions
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Assume the role of in-branch SME (Subject Matter Expert) regarding all operational policies and procedures - Work jointly with branch leadership in guiding and reinforcing training and operational accuracy for all associates
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to educate team on new and existing operational policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group setting to customers and other associates
  • Embrace a team centric approach to collectively serve customers in an ever evolving and fast paced banking environment
  • Regularly conduct team kickoff and meetings with guidance of branch leadership
  • Under the direction of Financial Center Manager, coach transactional associates toward conversation starters and improved referrals
  • Strong attention to detail

Education and/or Experience

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Two years customer-facing, goal-oriented experience with demonstrated branch-related operational proficiency
  • This position requires registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and/or

  • Understand and utilize social media platforms to help share brand awareness and obtain market knowledge

Other Qualifications (including physical requirements)

  • Occasional travel for meetings, training, bank conversion and acquisition support (sporadic and minimal overnight and/or out of town)
  • Ability to provide support and guidance at other financial centers within the market
