Job Description

S outhCoast Imaging Dept. is looking for a Weekend MRI Tech/$75 per hour

 

Under the clinical supervision of Physician or Office Manager provides patient services using imaging modalities as employed. Performs majority of exams with minimal supervision. Operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images (photographs) of patient's body for diagnostic purposes by performing the following duties.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images.
  • Knowledge of basic MRI procedures, protocol, methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of latest trends and techniques in MRI technology.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform testing, including body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Knowledge of equipment, including common safety hazards.

Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures.
  • Provide patient services using imaging modalities.
  • Enters data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into imaging equipment.
  • Monitor patient safety and comfort and view images of area being scanned.
  • Keys commands to specify scan sequences, and adjust transmitters and receivers into computer.
  • Performs or assists with other clinical and non-clinical duties as assigned by Supervisor or Physician.

Education/ Experience:

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education.

Requirements:

Professional registry for modality employed in, when mandated by Federal or section certifications or registry eligible (i.e. ARDMS, RT (M). Must maintain continued education (CE) credits as required and maintain currency of BLS/CPR certification.
