MRI Technologist Location: VA New York Harbor Healthcare System (Manhattan, Brooklyn, and St. Albans)
Position Type: Full-time
Position Overview: Seeking experienced MRI technologists to perform advanced diagnostic imaging in our state-of-the-art facilities. Join a team dedicated to providing exceptional care to our veterans.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform various MRI procedures independently
- Ensure MRI safety protocols are followed
- Screen patients for MRI safety
- Position patients and select imaging parameters
- Monitor patients during procedures
- Maintain equipment and supplies
- Collaborate with radiologists on image quality
- Train and mentor junior staff
Required Qualifications: - ARRT certification (R)
- Advanced ARRT certification in MRI
- Current state licensure
- BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
- MRI safety zone management experience
Preferred Qualifications: - 3+ years MRI experience
- Experience with multiple MRI platforms
- Advanced protocol experience
- Research experience
- Prior VA or military experience
Schedule & Tours of Duty: These positions require rotating shifts that include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The three standard shifts are:
- Morning Shift: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM
- Evening Shift: 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM
Additional Schedule Information: - Shifts include a 30-minute unpaid break
- Position requires flexibility to work any of the three shifts as scheduled
- Weekend and holiday rotation required
- Call coverage may be required based on department needs
- Schedule is posted two weeks in advance
- Must be able to report to any of the three VA facilities as needed:
- Manhattan Campus
- Brooklyn Campus
- St. Albans Community Living Center
