Take charge of your military transition with BufferSprings ! We've partnered with Frito-Lay to offer you an exclusive opportunity to continue your mission of solving critical problems—this time in the civilian world. Through the DoD SkillBridge program, you’ll train as a Maintenance Mechanic at Frito-Lay’s San Antonio facility, gaining hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining complex equipment while building the foundation for a successful civilian career.

Minimum of 12 weeks (DoD SkillBridge Program)

Open to all transitioning active-duty U.S. service members (officer and enlisted) from any branch, with at least 90 days of service remaining. Approval from your unit or command is required.

Ideal Military Background:

If you’ve served in any maintenance, repair, or technical role in the military—whether you worked on vehicles, aircraft, ships, or other equipment—this opportunity is for you. Veterans with experience in electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatic, or multi-craft mechanical repairs are encouraged to apply. Your ability to troubleshoot under pressure and your hands-on experience with a variety of mechanical systems will translate perfectly into this role.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be actively transitioning out of the military with eligibility for DoD SkillBridge.
  
• Military experience with electrical systems or a technical background preferred.
  
• Proven experience in mechanical and electrical repairs (military or civilian).
  
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting 15-50 lbs.) and work in various environmental conditions.
  
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays if needed.
  
• You’ll also need to complete a hands-on electrical skills test as part of the interview process.
  

Benefits

Compensation:

You’ll start with an expected compensation of $70,000 annually plus shift differential, with   earning potential of $81,000 as you level up with Frito-Lay. As a part of this career track, you’ll also have opportunities for advancement and full-time employment with PepsiCo upon completion of the program.
