Steelcase - Logistics Specialist Job Description
3-6 month contract (possibility of contract-to-hire)
$28-32/hr pay rate
100% on-site
Responsibilities:
· The logistics specialist will be asked to track and trace full-truckload, less than truckload, parcel, and expedited shipments within Steelcase logistics to ensure flawless execution of on-time delivery.
· Communication with dedicated fleet carriers, contracted carriers, and brokers will happen daily in the form of emails and phone calls.
· The person in this position could also be asked to review claims, complete reports, and complete additional tasks supporting day to day transportation logistics.
· This position will play a key role in ensuring Steelcase dealers and customers receive world-class delivery performance on every shipment.
· This role will require someone able to work in a dynamic environment on site at the Steelcase Global Business Center during normal business hours.
Requirements:
· 2-3 years of experience with Microsoft tools like Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
· 2-3 years of transportation experience dispatching, tendering, shipment tracing, 3rd party brokerage, or some other closely related transportation role
· Can communicate effectively both inside Steelcase organization and outside with various carriers using email and phone
Preferred:
· SAP knowledge
· Experience using a Transportation Management system
· GPS carrier tracking (MacroPoint or similar tool) experience
· Smartsheet experience
· Tableau or similar data visibility tool experience
