Job Description



The IT Manager is responsible for the information technology and systems required to support the organization, including day-to-day execution. This role must be able to recognize the difference between strategy and execution and know when each is appropriate. As a member of the leadership team, the IT Manager contributes to overall business strategies and results while ensuring the company’s IT infrastructure remains secure, compliant, and efficient.

Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure
    • Lead small- and large-scale technology projects, including installation, upgrade, and maintenance.  
    • Manage technology assets, including inventory of hardware, software, and equipment.  
    • Maintain and optimize applications, including ERP and CAD systems.  
  • Cyber Security
    • Ensure information systems comply with ITAR, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, and CMMC Level 2 controls.  
    • Review and develop system security plans (SSPs) and plans of action and milestones (POA&Ms).  
    • Develop new and mature existing information security policies and procedures.  
    • Verify and document the implementation of security controls necessary to achieve compliance.  
    • Initiate and lead ongoing information security maturity assessments and training.  
  • Data Storage & Use
    • Design systems to collect, automate, and store data in a manner that is organized and accessible. 
    • Assist others in performing data-related tasks. Facilitate business intelligence actions and insights.  
    • Plans, develops, tests, and maintains a business continuity plan for all information systems.  
  • Strategic Planning
    • Participate in strategic planning sessions with other leadership team members.  
    • Create and achieve goals and objectives that align with company strategy.  
    • Take an analytical and metrics-driven approach to create compelling narratives for solutions.  
    • Project manage major initiatives. Define the sequence and timeline of milestones.  
    • Participate in creating annual budgets and manage expenditures to operate within budgeted targets.  
    • Analyze complex business needs to recommend technology solutions.  

Qualifications



Experience & Education:

  • At least 3 years of IT management experience is required; 5+ years, especially in a manufacturing environment, is a big plus.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as ITAR, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, and NIST CSF is required. Hands-on experience with CMMC Level 2 compliance is highly desirable.
  • Strong background in technical support, with experience providing daily IT assistance. Experience managing an IT ticketing system is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies, including Office Suite and Exchange (on-prem), is required. Experience with MS SQL, SharePoint, Intune, and Purview is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and virtualization platforms (ESXi, Hyper-V), along with experience managing server technologies (Server 2012-2025), is required. Hands-on experience with Azure administration is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Radius, WSUS, and Entra is a plus.
  • Networking expertise, including VLANs, subnetting, routing, VPNs, MFA, and DHCP, is required. Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, and Aruba is preferred.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, and deployment automation is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage IT budgeting, vendor negotiations, and contract optimization is highly preferred.
