Job Posting: Home Health Billing Specialist

Location: 6450 Escondido Drive, El Paso, Texas 79912 (Not a Remote Job Opportunity)

Reports to: Home Health Revenue Cycle Manager

Job Description Summary:

Tender Care Home Health and Hospice is seeking an experienced Home Health Billing Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a timely and accurate system for processing all hospice claims while monitoring accounts receivable and collections. The ideal candidate will have a background in medical billing within a healthcare setting.

Position Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Current automobile liability insurance.
• Must live in the El Paso, Texas area or able to commute to the Texas office location.
• Dependable, reliable, and ethical work qualities.
• Knowledge and experience in accounting and billing systems, with a focus on hospice billing for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
• Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare-related billing experience required.
• Two (2) years of experience in home health billing highly preferred.
• Ability to adhere to applicable home health policies and regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
• Alignment with the Mission and Vision Statement of Tender Care Home Health & Hospice.

Job Duties:

• Prepare and bill Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance claims promptly each month.
• Evaluate and research denied claims, resubmitting them as necessary.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly information impacting accounts receivables.
• Analyze reports to meet or exceed collection goals.
• Track and post payments and adjustments as directed.
• Research potential payment sources for indigent or unpaid claims.
• Stay updated on billing systems and regulatory changes from CMS and other agencies.
• Attend required staff meetings and in-services.
• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Competency:

• Strong comprehension skills for understanding technological and professional communications.
• Proficiency in basic office skills, including typing, computer operations, photocopying, faxing, and electronic data entry.
• Effective and diplomatic communication with vendors and team members.
• Ability to manage time efficiently to complete all assigned duties.
• Recognize limitations in experience and knowledge, directing communication as necessary.
• Required experience in medical billing, preferably in home health settings.

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

Compensation:

• Pay: Depends on Experience (DOE) plus Monthly Incentives
