Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Elicits individual and family histories and information regarding the psychological and socioeconomic status of the family.
Reviews with the family and clinical geneticist the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment planned.
Transmits pertinent information about genetic risks and mechanism.
Assists the family in assimilating the genetic information and adjusting to its implications.
Implements the treatment plan and makes appropriate referrals to medical, nursing, social work and psychological services.
Provides follow-up support to patients and their families.
Summarizes findings for patients and referring physicians.
Participates in the education of parents, community groups, physicians, medical professionals, agencies, staff and students regarding human genetics.
Facilitates provision of services, including intake and clinic organization.
Assists in the development and implementation of ongoing clinical investigations in genetics.

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
