Job Description

We are looking for a capable and reliable general laborer to join our team. You’ll take direction from the project foreman to help prepare job sites, load and unload construction materials, remove debris, assist team members, and perform any other general labor needed to get the job done right. You should be great at following instructions, with a can-do attitude. • Be available to help onsite tradespeople and heavy equipment workers as needed, to complete the plumbing, electrical, roofing, and any other aspect of the project
• Unload and stack all building materials and tools needed for a project so that everything is accessible and easy to find for the project
• Clean up any tools, trash, and building materials once construction is complete to ensure a clean worksite
• Provide support to your team through all stages of every project to make sure the job is done efficiently
• Make sure to follow all health and safety regulations to ensure you and your crew members don’t suffer any injuries
• Clean up site
• Clean all on-site equipment
• Perform yard work, including blowing customer area and trash removal
• Operate general site equipment (Blowers, pressure washers)
• Check landfill tickets
• Spot Customers driving into the transfer station
• Perform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
• Work overtime and rotating shifts from scheduled start time to scheduled end time
• Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace
• Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings
• Experience in a landfill, transfer station, or waste experience is preferred
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to be self-directed as well as work in a team environment
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred
• Should have general knowledge of building and construction, but we are willing to provide training
• Preference to candidates with experience using construction equipment such as forklift and power tools
• Must have excellent hand-eye coordination, good balance, and have the physical strength to be able to do the work
• Must be able to take direction, work well independently and as part of a team for efficiency and productivity
