Job Summary:
Walter Knoll Florist, a leading floral designer and retailer in O'Fallon, MO, is seeking a skilled and passionate Florist Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare flowers, greenery, and other materials by cleaning, conditioning, and trimming according to the design specifications- Help in the assembly and arrangement of bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, centerpieces, and other floral pieces- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work area, including the storage and care of flowers and equipment- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and unpacking flower shipments, restocking shelves, and monitoring supplies- Greet and assist customers with their flower and plant selections, providing helpful recommendations and ensuring a positive shopping experience- Process customer orders accurately, including taking payments, recording details, and arranging for delivery or pick-up- Prepare and package arrangements for delivery, ensuring they are properly secured for transportation
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role or a background in floral design is preferred but not required- Strong knowledge and understanding of flowers, plants, and floral design techniques- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed- Physical ability to stand, lift, and carry floral arrangements and supplies- Proficient in basic computer skills and experience with point-of-sale systems is an asset- Passion for flowers, creativity, and a willingness to learn and grow in the field of floristry
