Job Summary: The School Nurse (RN/LPN) will treat students for medical issues, help prevent physical issues and disease, and coordinate routine health assessments.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Duties/Responsibilities: - Provide professional medical treatment to students.
- Conduct early detection of physical problems and health evaluations.
- Implement and support disease prevention efforts.
- Assist in promoting health education and immunization programs.
- Maintain clinical records.
- Coordinate vision, hearing, and orthopedic screening and health assessments.
- Provide emergency aid to students and school staff.
- Assist teachers in instructing students in health and nutrition education.
Required Skills/Abilities: - Knowledge of community agencies to assist students and their families.
- Understanding of district policies and procedures.
Education and Experience: - Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification required.
- Current nursing license required.
- Driver's license preferred for student transport (highly desirable).
Physical Requirements: - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Extended periods of standing, reaching, and bending.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Compensation: - Pay range for this position is between $29.00 per hour and $33.00 per hour
