Monarch NC, a provider of high-quality and trauma-informed care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders, is seeking a dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our Community Services team in Charlotte, NC.


As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide individualized services in the community and promote individual self-determination and decision-making for the people we serve. You will provide essential expertise and consultation to the staff to promote a culture in which each individual's point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into treatment, rehabilitation, and community self-help. You will also model recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal action to encourage wellness and resilience in the people we serve, as well as teach and promote self-advocacy.

To qualify, candidates must have the following:


*A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
*Candidates must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist for the state of North Carolina (CPSS). Please do not apply unless you are fully certified.
*At least 2 years of experience working with adults with a mental health and/or substance use disorder diagnosis.
