Architectural Drafting/DOB Expeditor Position (Part-Time)

 
G-Net Construction Corp/VSN Architecture, PC, located on Staten Island, is looking to hire someone to perform Architectural Drafting & NYC DOB Expediting work, IN-OFFICE for 1 or 2 days a week, as they continue to expand their General Construction and Architectural Services in ALL Five Boroughs of NYC.

This is not an at-home position or for an outside consultant/contract. This is for a Part-Time, IN-OFFICE position. Recruiters, please do not contact.

 

Duties include (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

• Performing site surveys as needed.
• Prepare Architectural Drawings and assemble them for NYC DOB submission.
• Convert redline drawings to updated AutoCAD drawings.
• Coordinate MEP & Structural Engineers, as well as NYC DOB Code & Zoning Consultants.
• Able to review DOB objections and maintain current NYC DOB Building Code compliance.
• Manage and continually track all digital files per project.
• Assemble NYC DOB closeout checklists to assist in getting previously completed projects signed off.
• Coordinate project DOB sign-offs with project engineers, owners, and special inspectors.
• Obtain final Letter of Completion or Certificate of Occupancy 
• Follow-up on NYC DOB form paperwork to make sure required forms are signed/certified online.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of basic general construction materials and details and know-how to draw them.
• Knowledge of current NYC DOB Building codes and regulations, NYC Fire Code & DOT (for buildings) regulations.
• A VALID NYS Driver’s License AND have OWN means of transportation to get to sites and the NYC DOB.
• Possess excellent communication skills to coordinate clients, engineers, and consultants.
• Be detail-oriented and able to organize multiple projects.
• +2 years of experience working in an architectural firm under a licensed architect using AutoCAD.
• +2 years working with an Expediting Firm
• Intermediate experience using MS Excel & MS Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certificate in AutoCAD.
• +5 years of experience working in an architectural firm under a licensed architect.
• +5 years working with an Expediting Firm
• Experience in working in a construction firm.
• Knowledge of current NYC Zoning Laws.
